Congratulation on wanting to explore confirmation.
Confirmation marks the point in your Christian journey at which you affrim foryourself the faith into which you have been baptised and your intention to live a life of committed discipleship. This affirmation is confirmed through prayer and the laying on of hands by the confirming bishop. The Church also asks God to give you power through the Holy Spirit to enable you to live in the way of Jesus.
It is important to see confirmation as part of your journey in faith in Christ and not in isolation. We are planning several confirmation courses in the Parish this Autumn and this is a good way to explore your faith with others who are thinking about confirmation as well as being a safe place to ask any questions you have about God, Jesus and the journey of faith. There is no obligation for you to become confirmed at the end of the course.
Confirmation classes will run weekly during September and October (exact dates to be confirmed) with confirmations taking place in Chalfont St Peter Parish Church at the end of October. To enable all ages to feel comfortable when attending classes we will be running three courses simultaneously:
- A young people's course (11 - 19 years)
will be run by Jim King and Ben Topham.
- A young adult course (20 - 40 years)
will be run by Jim King and Luke Maxted.
- A senior adult course (40+ years)
will be run by Wendy Graham.
If you are interested in finding out more about confirmation, would like to attend a course or simply want a chat about what it might involve, please speak to Revd Jim King (07785 370803) or Revd Wendy Graham (01753 885066) or contact the Parish Office on 01753 880067 or
